China National Day to be Marked with an Evening Celebration

On Sunday 28 September 2025, Birmingham will once again host a special event marking the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Organised by the China National Day Organising Committee, the evening will take place at the Birmingham Conference & Events Centre and bring together community leaders, dignitaries, businesses and invited guests for an occasion dedicated to cultural exchange, friendship and international cooperation.

The programme will include a welcome drinks receptionspeeches from distinguished guests, a formal banquet, and cultural performances ranging from modern dance and classical Chinese music to the spectacular traditional lion dance.

This year’s celebration also recognises two significant global milestones: the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War and the founding of the United Nations – both reminders of shared values of peace, unity and cooperation.

Chair of the Organising Committee, Mr Wei Du, said:

“This celebration is not only a commemoration of China’s National Day but also marks two key global milestones: the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War and the founding of the United Nations. These historic events remind us of the values we share: peace, unity and international co-operation. This event is a bridge for friendship, understanding and cooperation between communities. We are proud to share Chinese culture with the city of Birmingham and look forward to welcoming guests from all walks of life.”
