Southside District launches 2026 - 2031 Business Plan: Our Vision for the next five years

We are excited to unveil our Business Plan 2026-2031: Our Vision for Southside – an ambitious roadmap for the future of our District.

Southside is a place full of creativity, diversity and opportunity. This plan builds on the strong foundations we’ve laid together over the past 15 years, and sets out a clear vision to enhance and grow our vibrant district for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.

Our Priorities

Over the next five years, we’ll focus our efforts across four key areas:

·      Business and Growth

·      Culture and Events

·      Safer Southside

·      Cleaner and Greener

Our mission is to promote Southside as a key destination in the city, while making it safer, cleaner, more connected and economically resilient. A key part of this vision is our new strategic partnership with Colmore Business District (BID), who will be bringing their expertise and services directly to businesses in Southside.

Through partnership, creativity and determination, we aim to support local businesses, celebrate our cultural identity and ensure Southside continues to thrive as distinctive, exciting and welcoming destination.

Your Vote Matters

Between Thursday 11 September and Thursday 23 October 2025, businesses in Southside will have the opportunity to vote ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ to this exciting new plan.

·      Every property (hereditament) that pays the BID levy gets one vote.

·      If you’re responsible for more than one property, you get one vote per property.

·      Ballot papers will arrive in yellow envelopes – keep an eye out!

Ballot Timeline

·      11 September 2025 – Ballot opens and papers arrive

·      23 October 2025 – Voting closes at 17:00

·      27 October 2025 – Ballot result announced
