Organisational Update Statement
Jo Kinsella, Chair of the Board at Southside District said:
“Over the last 15 years, Julia has pioneered a wealth of activity to add vibrancy to Southside District. She has achieved a monumental amount since Southside’s inception, successfully positioning the area as the diverse cultural heart of Birmingham city-centre.
Julia has made the personal decision to step down from her role as BID Manager at Southside District. Her last day in the position will be on Saturday 16 August 2025.
Having embraced the challenges and opportunities of the role, she now feels it’s the right time to pass the baton. Julia has been central to Southside’s growth, and we are immensely proud of the progress that has been made in this time and grateful to Julia for all the work she has done to make this possible.
In advance of this organisational update, we have formed a strategic partnership with Colmore Business District (BID), who will be providing their services and resources directly to businesses in Southside.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the Southside community to leverage a broader range of skills and knowledge from the experienced team at Colmore BID – including senior stakeholder engagement, BID governance, press office, marketing campaigns, and social media content creation ahead of Southside District’s upcoming BID4 ballot.
“We thank Julia for her unwavering commitment and years of service to Southside District, and we wish her all the best with her future endeavours.”
